Rescue‘s School Programs are programs that were specially designed to support girls and boys’ education in four West African Nations (Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, and Guinee), respectively. However, to succeed in this area, our team of experts, put children’s scholarly needs first and then, visited selected schools in these Nations. After our findings, we first decided to see if we could help families who, regardless of their financial strengths, still wanted their children to have an education. So, with this in mind, government schools were visited whereas, selected numbers of students (the needy ones) were handpicked and then, helped with their tuitions, school uniforms, and school supplies. We also helped the parents with the basic needs (life/survival, caring/sense of belonging, control/power, purpose/freedom, and happiness/fun) of these children through a series of programs in those selected schools.
Besides the above activities, these and many other related programs such as the “back to school” programs, “Genius”, and others, have helped over 5000 children with school supplies and others in Greater Monrovia and parts of Kakata, Margibi County. Though the aim of this program is to help the educational system of Liberia, there are growing plans to touch the lives of all children (girls and boys) in this country plus those in Sierra Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, and Guinee because they are under this organization’s umbrella.
Now, though there are plans to impact the lives of all children in the rural parts of these great neighboring Nations, 1Heart can not do it alone that’s why we’re soliciting the benefactions of donors across the globe.
