Victims of traffic and abuse

We tackle Human trafficking by:

  • Having a workplace that is equipped with the savoir-faire of an environment that’s trauma-informed from the lowest to the Managerial and Human Resource’ level which helps to put every staff member on his/her toes;
  • Raising awareness – though this African proverb says that “it takes a village to raise a child”, 1heart equally says that it also takes this same village to protect this child. However, since the African community is considered as a single community, 1heart, with the efforts of selected leaders within these given communities, work together in order to raise awareness in individual families/households, amongst peers schools and churches, and others on ways in which the signs and risk factors of the term “trafficking” is associated with child sex trafficking;
  • Volunteer and support anti-trafficking efforts in 1Heart’ selected communities;
  • Faith-based Communities –  host awareness events and community forums with anti-trafficking leaders or collectively support a local victim service provider;
  • Comply Chain – Provide jobs, internships, skills training, and other opportunities to trafficking survivors. Take steps to investigate and prevent trafficking in 1Heart’ supply chains by consulting the responsible sources tool to develop an effective management system to detect, prevent, and combat human trafficking and etc.
